Providing the unique combination of greater forgiveness and enhanced playability
CARLSBAD, CA (February 14, 2008) – Cobra Golf delivers optimal forgiveness and playability with enhanced feel in the new, re-engineered King Cobra FP irons. Already recognized as an award-winner in the 2008 Golf Digest Hot List, the new FP irons introduce several new design and construction features resulting in exciting new performance benefits.
“The new 2008 King Cobra FP iron line provides significant design and technological improvements from its award-winning predecessor,” said Jeff Harmet, President, Cobra Golf and Titleist Clubs. “From the sleeker head and new mid-width sole design to the new brand and model shafts, we’ve made improvements that provide avid golfers the perfect blend of forgiveness and playability with outstanding feel.”
“Golfers of all abilities will appreciate the higher MOI and lower CG for even more consistent distance and ball flight across the hitting area,” said Scott Rice, Director of Research and Development, Cobra Golf. “In addition, the new modern head profile and enhanced aesthetics give golfers confidence at address and set-up.”
FP IRON TECHNOLOGY:
FP irons have a unique combination of forgiveness with playability. The new head design and full cavity backed plate with urethane membrane offer enhanced feel along with a great look, while the relieved mid-width sole design, and increased perimeter weighting provide superior forgiveness and playability under a wide variety of conditions.
Undercut Cavity, Mid-Width Sole Head Design: Low-and-back CG for greater forgiveness and increased levels of playability.
Heel-Toe Perimeter Weighting: Higher inertia for greater forgiveness and accuracy.
Urethane Insert, Full Back Cavity Plate: Both technologies enhance feel, while the urethane insert allows 10-20 grams of weight to be redistributed to the heel and toe for optimal MOI.
Premium Aldila VS PROTO-HL or Nippon N.S. Pro Shafts: Increased launch and playability.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE: King Cobra FP Irons are available in men’s graphite (4-GW) and steel shafts and women’s and seniors graphite (5-SW) shafts. The new King Cobra FP irons are shipping now, with a suggested retail price of US$720 (graphite) and US$600 (steel) per set.
