(April 24, 2008 – Coral Springs, FL) – Caddy For A Cure, Inc. is once again bringing the world of professional golf closer to golf fans, this time at the hallowed grounds of Augusta National at the 2009 Masters Championship. Caddy For A Cure offers the opportunity to go inside the ropes to caddy for the world’s best players at PGA TOUR venues with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. This inaugural opportunity at the 2009 Masters Championship will be for British Open Champion, Todd Hamilton, in his official practice round on Monday, April 6th, 2009.
Caddy For A Cure offers its PGA TOUR player caddy opportunities through online auctions from its website (www.caddyforacure.com). The benefitting charities include the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, which is the inspiration behind the Caddy For A Cure program, as well as multiple local, regional and national level qualified charities.
The caddy auction for Todd Hamilton is planned to begin on Thursday, January 15th, 2009, and will run for 2-weeks through Thursday, January 29th, 2009. The caddy date is Monday, April 6th at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA. In addition to the caddy opportunity, the auction winner will receive Hamilton’s custom Taylor Made golf bag, personally autographed, that he will use during his competition play during the week in The Masters.
"We are so honored to have British Open Champion Todd Hamilton participate with us at the first of the 2009 major golf championships, The Masters,” commented Russ Holden, Caddy For A Cure program founder and CEO. “Although we normally suggest tournaments to our participating PGA TOUR players, Todd recently suggested his participation at the 2009 Masters thinking it would be a great venue for golf fans to experience and to raise money for our charities. Can you even imagine walking up to the first tee at the Augusta National during Masters week, fairways lined with people, walking the greatest fairways in the history of the game? Can you imagine walking over Rae's Creek across the Hogan Bridge, the Nelson Bridge, or the Sarazen Bridge? How about walking back to the back tee at #13 looking at that tee shot that very few people in the world have ever seen? This will truly be the golfing experience of a lifetime for some lucky golf fan.”
