(RIDGEFIELD, CT) — Boccieri Golf — maker of the TOUR-proven Heavy Putter — announces that its new MID-WEIGHT Series K4 blade model has been named to the Golf Digest 2009 "Hot List," the company's third such honor in four years.
The K4 — one of five putters in the MID-WEIGHT Series — received high marks in the areas of "performance" and "innovation." This blade putter was specifically praised for it unique weighting system, which features added mass in the head and grip compared to traditional flatsticks. At 750 grams, the club measures slightly less than previous Heavy Putter offerings (850 — 900 grams).
Panelists' comments about the K4 MID-WEIGHT Series — one of seven putters honored in the "Under $200 Blade" category — as published in Golf Digest's February issue:
* "Releases automatically. The block to the right is no more."
* "Great on short putts."
* "I like the simplicity of its alignment."
* "Keeps your stroke smooth even after the second cup of coffee."
Golf Digest's annual "Hot List" list showcases equipment that has received the best reviews from the magazine's panel of testers. A year-long process that begins with 470 clubs, the list is systematically reduced to the top putters, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, wedges and balls.
"It's an honor to once again be included in the prestigious 'Hot List', especially since the K4 was the only MID-WEIGHT Series model available for submission when testing began," says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. "This revolutionary line incorporates traditional designs with Heavy Putter's patented weighting technology for enhanced looks, feel, consistency and control. Players can now find the entire MID-WEIGHT Series at golf shops and courses worldwide and we're very excited about the buzz as 2009 begins."
Available in a black PVD or silver satin finish, the aesthetic MID-WEIGHT Series incorporates a higher balance point created by a counter-weight in the butt end of the shaft that disengages the hands, promoting a smoother, more consistent pendulum stroke. The added weight in the head and grip automatically engage the body's larger, more stable muscles for improved performance.
Heavy Putter MID-WEIGHT Series consists of three blades and two mallets and comes in standard, mid and long lengths; MSRP $169.
About the Heavy Putter
Heavy Putter is carried in all 50 states and 30 overseas markets. It is found in many of the finest off-course shops and most prestigious golf courses, country clubs and resorts worldwide and since its 2005 introduction, has captured victories on the PGA, European, Nationwide, Asian, Canadian and European Challenge Tours.
The Heavy Putter remains the first and only putter that can automatically improve the consistency of the putting stroke. Its unprecedented application of a heavier mass head and counter-balanced weight in the grip end of the shaft promotes greater stroke stability, consistent swing paths, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, and tightens the end-over-end golf ball roll.
Original, Matte and Deep Face Series models — which spawned the global army of Heavy Putter true believers — retail for $229, $199 and $169, respectively.
