New Knee, New Driver, New Irons, New Ball?Same Amazing Results

Tiger Woods Demonstrates a Masterful Comeback by Winning his Sixth Bay Hill Event and 66th PGA Tour Title of his Career

Tiger Woods returned to Bay Hill just the way he left it – by making a dramatic birdie putt on the 72nd hole to win, sparking yet another earth-shattering moment in golf. This year’s victory at Bay Hill is his sixth Arnold Palmer Invitational title and marks his first win since returning from an eight-month layoff to recover from knee surgery. With a reconstructed knee, new Nike arsenal, and a new win, Woods is primed to compete in the first major championship of the season, the Masters.

Upon Woods’ return this season at the World Golf Championships – Accenture Match Play, Woods switched to Nike’s new SQ DYMO Driver, Nike’s Victory Red irons, and the Nike ONE Tour ball. Nike’s SQ DYMO Driver, which first became available to consumers last month, features technology that emphasizes optimization. In the SQ DYMO, Nike has taken the MOI concept to greater detail by varying each clubhead to match the performance level of any player. Every loft has a different shape, PowerBow, center of gravity placement, face height and face angle.

Woods’ new irons are Nike’s Victory Red TW Blades, which feature a more traditional muscle back design that promotes workability, ultimate control and shot shaping, all characteristics demanded by Woods himself. “I like the new VR Blades because of the consistent feel throughout the bag, how good it looks in a playing position and my workability,” said Woods. “I can shape the ball both ways, change my trajectory, do whatever I need to do to hit the ball closest to the hole and be as efficient as I can throughout the round. That’s ultimately what you want to have happen.”

Another addition to his Nike arsenal is the new Nike ONE Tour ball. The Nike ONE Tour ball has further reduced driver spin and optimized flight trajectory improving overall distance performance. Rounding out his bag full of Nike Golf equipment were his Nike SQ 2 15 and 19-degree fairway woods and Nike’s Victory Red 56-degree and Nike SV 60-degree wedge.
