Byrd Aces 4th Hole Play off hole and Wins in Las Vegas – makes history! First player ever to a PGA Tour event in a playoff with a hole-in-one.
Fairhaven, MA (October 25, 2010)
Golfers were treated to some amazing golf during regulation play and in the 4 play off holes, but Johnathan Byrds ace to finish the tournament was amazing. Byrd, who was nearly out the tournament when his ball almost went into the water on the previous hole, hit off first on the fourth hole and it was his last of the tournament. Scot Martin Laird and Australian Cameron Percy both had chances to hole out to continue but both found water going for the ulitimate shot. Byrd’s win was was worth $756 000.00 from the $4.3 Million prize fund.
