(RIDGEFIELD, CT) – Boccieri Golf announces that the D3-L LITE-WEIGHT Series model in its TOUR-proven Heavy Putter line has been named to the prestigious Golf Digest 2011 “Hot List,” marking the company’s fifth such honor in six years.
A full-sized, face-balanced mallet with a heel-mounted, double bend shaft, the D3-L received high marks in the areas of “performance” and “innovation.” The putter was specifically praised for its unique weighting system, which features added mass in the head and grip.
Panelists’ comments about the D3-L – as published in Golf Digest’s February issue – include:
• “Just holding it can make you feel more planted in your stance”
• “Feels smooth…the heavier swing weight prevents me from closing the face”
• “The alignment features are as clear as can be”
• “If sufferings from jittery hands, this putter is like chicken soup”
At 600 total grams, the LITE-WEIGHT Series weighs less than previous Heavy Putter models but more than standard offerings from other leading brands, which weigh approximately 500 grams.
“It’s tremendous to once again have our products recognized in the influential ‘Hot List,'” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. “The LITE-WEIGHT Series has really struck a chord with consumers, who can now experience the benefits of our line in a variety of weights and models to fit their preference. We’re excited about the bright future of the Heavy Putter and also introducing some groundbreaking new products in other categories this coming year.”
Golf Digest’s annual “Hot List” showcases equipment that has received the best reviews from the magazine’s panel of testers. A year-long process that begins with hundreds of clubs, the list is systematically reduced to the top putters, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons and wedges.
The genesis of the LITE-WEIGHT series stems from PGA Tour player feedback, which conveyed a preference for an option that retained the benefits of the Heavy Putter on a lighter scale. When paired with existing Heavy Putter models – including the 750 gram MID-WEIGHT and 900 gram HEAVY-WEIGHT series – the new styles provide a putter for every preference.
The Heavy Putter’s unique design automatically engages the body’s larger, more stable muscles to promote greater stroke stability, swing path consistency, uniform pace and precise control of distance and direction.
